Ahmadinejad meets Turkish transport minister

TEHRAN -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met Turkish Transport Minister Binali Yildirim in Tehran on Monday to discuss Iran-Turkey relations.
Iran and Turkey have the potential to boost ties and launch joint ventures in the fields of energy and transportation, Ahmadinejad said.The Turkish transport minister also met his Iranian counterpart Hamid Behbahani, and the two signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in the field of transportation, IRNA reported.
At the signing ceremony, Behbahani said that enhanced transportation ties will facilitate efforts to boost bilateral trade and economic transactions.
Yildirim said Iran-Turkey trade hit $10 billion in 2008, and the two countries hope to reach their target of $20 billion in annual trade by 2011.
Iran currently exports $8 billion of goods, including oil and gas products, to Turkey, and imports nearly $2 billion of Turkish products per annum
